From painting houses to painting canvases, that's ADRIAN R.

 

Adrian "Ray" Evans Sr., has been painting structures, both commercial and residential in excess of 30 years.  The last 20 have been his own contracting business, knows as "ADRIAN CUSTOM HOUSE PAINTERS'.

For most of those years, "Adrian" has been synonymous with quality in the upscale communities of Southwest Orlando, Fl.

 

As a little boy, Ray effortlessly scrawled cartoon characters on scrap paper and sometimes schoolbooks.  After serving in the Navy during the Korean conflict, he studied business administration at Kentucky Wesleyan College in Owensboro, Ky.

 

One of the teachers at Kentucky Weslyan noticed a possible budding artist, and aked Ray to paint a murial for his business.  That did spark some enthusiasm for art, however, other interests prevailed for most of his adult years. Then one day, one of the house painting customers was having difficulty getting an artist to do some interior art work. Ray stepped up, performed well, and began renewing his yearning to express himself on canvas. 

 

Still maintaining the house painting business, night art classes and self art teaching became the norm for spare time and week-ends.  Attending many art shows and eventually beginning to participate, Ray chose to sign his work ADRIAN R. and started to sell.

 

The big 7-0 has come and gone,

the house painting has now taken a back seat (in the form of semi-retirement), and Adrian R. has paintings hanging far and wide. 

 

Self taught for the most part, with occasional help from short classes, special workshops and Crealde School of Art in Winter Park Fl., Adrian R. is still constantly challenging his God-given talent to improve.

So it's still art classes, studying and painting and continuing to enjoy turning a canvas into a piece to awe, sometimes mystify and always please that someone's eye.
